Men’s CASE MANAGER AIDE

  • The Case Manager Aide shall provide supportive assistance to Case Managers (Counselors) and program clients under the direction of Program Manager or designate.  Training and orientation will be provided by the staff member having the responsibility in a particular area of the facility's program and/or operation.

  • Case Manager Aide may be hired as a part-time or per-diem, full-time employee provided he/she is attending or plans to attend the next available semester, at a recognized and certified educational institution and is enrolled in an alcohol and drug studies program.  They shall actively pursue those educational requirements necessary to obtain a certificate or degree.  Employees may be eligible for regular full-time employment status with a minimum of three completed alcohol and drug studies program courses.  All non-certified staff shall maintain an active enrollment in-state counselor certification process.

  • Note: An employee with a minimum of three (3) alcohol/drug studies classes completed may request in writing to take one semester off during his/her "education requirement" period of employment.  This waiver must be requested in advance and approved by his/her immediate supervisor.  Missing two (2) semesters during the "educational requirement" period will jeopardize employment status.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Familiarization to appropriate referral agencies and self-help groups.

  • Telephone usage (information and referral).

  • Co-facilitating groups.

  • Intake Assessments.

  • Detoxification

  • Assessment

  • Monitoring process

  • Documentation

  • Referral

  • Discharge Process

  • Clerical duties.

  • Periodic breakthroughs around the facility at every shift, checking on all clients.


    Qualifications

  • Shall possess the ability to communicate effectively, be able to demonstrate empathy, understanding, and guidance to program participants.

  • He/she shall possess a working knowledge of the disease concept of alcoholism /chemical dependency and the recovery of same.

  • In the event the Case Manager Aide is recovering, it is desirable that he/she have a minimum of two (2) years continuous sobriety, with an ongoing recovery program.

  • Preferably, he/she shall have a minimum of one-year experience working directly with alcohol/chemically dependent clients in a formally structured program; e.g., outpatient, inpatient, residential.

  • He/she shall be flexible regarding work schedule.  Day, evening, night, weekend and holiday shifts may be required.

  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be insured by TRRCI's insurance carrier.

    Salary/Pay rate

  • Salary / pay rate will be commensurate with experience, education and training.

  • Starting Salary is $20/hour
